Use the OneDrive Files Usage report to learn more about the content stored in OneDrive for Business. By understanding which files are being accessed and shared internally or externally, you can manage resources more effectively, detect suspicious sharing activity and find out if sensitive content is shared outside your organization.

Files

The number of Files stored in OneDrive for Business in the selected date range.

Active Files Rate (%)

This visual indicates the ratio of active files that have been viewed, edited, synced or shared at least once to those who haven't, during the selected date range.

Storage Used

This visual displays the overall storage used (MB) in OneDrive for Business in the selected date range. 

The number of files shared using anonymous guest links.

File Operations

This line chart details the number of files viewed, created, edited, deleted, synced or shared, over the currently selected date range. You can hover your cursor over any point in the chart to highlight the number of file operations at that point.

Files Accessed

This table visual includes the following columns:

  • Url - Provides a direct link to the listed file.
  • File Name - The name of the file.
  • Owner - The name of the user who created the file.
  • Views - The number of times a file was accessed.
  • Unique Users - The number of unique users who accessed the file.
  • Shares - The number of times a file was shared internally/externally.
  • Size (MB) - The size of the file in MB.

You can click on any file to see who the file is shared with in the File Shares table visual.

File Shares

The pie chart details the amount of files that were shared internally and the amount of files that were shared externally.

The table visual lists the users a file is shared with and includes the following columns:

  • Username - The name of the user.
  • User Email - The email address of the user.
  • Type - Internal/External.
