It contains a series of visuals, ready to be quickly filtered by department or office, to help you understand which users are communicating through channel messages and private chat messages, participating in meetings and calls, sharing content and using apps in Teams.
Teams | Usage Overview
Active vs. Inactive Users
This visual indicates the ratio of active vs. inactive users, during the selected date range. The bar graph indicates trends in this ratio over time.
Active Users
Number of unique users who performed an action in a Team during the selected date range (engaged in a chat in a channel, communicated via private chat message, participated in calls or meetings).
Inactive Users
Number of unique users who did not perform any action in a Team during the selected date range.
Team Messages vs. Private Chat Messages
This pie chart details the amount of messages posted in Team channels and the amount of messages in private chats, during the selected date range.
Access Type
This pie chart details the amount of times each device was used to connect to Teams.
- Web - The user was active on the Teams web client.
- Windows - The user was active in the Teams desktop client on a Windows-based computer.
- Mac - The user was active in the Teams desktop client on a macOS computer.
- Linux - The user was active in the Teams desktop client on a Linux computer.
- iOS - The user was active on the Teams mobile client for iOS.
- Android phone - The user was active on the Teams mobile client for Android.
Meetings
This visual identifies the total number of meetings scheduled within the selected date range. The line graph in the background indicates trends in the volume of meetings over time.
Calls
This visual identifies the total number of calls that users participated in within the selected date range. The line graph in the background indicates trends in the number of calls that users participated in over time.
Apps
This visual identifies the total number of apps added to Teams within the selected date range. The line graph in the background indicates trends in the number of apps added to Teams over time.
Content Shared
This line graph indicates trends in the number of content items shared in Teams over time (added to tabs or posted as an attachment in channel messages).
