The Videos - Usage Overview report provides comprehensive video usage statistics to help you understand how videos embedded in your SharePoint portal are being used, including data on video views, duration, and content performance. It offers insights into how videos are consumed and provides valuable information for content optimization and distribution strategies.

You can easily filter the report by a specific video using the Portal Tree Filter or by clicking on the video title in the Active Videos table. All visuals in the report will respond accordingly.

Visuals

Active Videos

The active videos includes the following columns:

  • Video URL - Provides a direct link to the listed video file
  • Title - The title of the video
  • Video Views - The number of times the video has been viewed (played/auto played)
  • Completely Viewed - The number of times the video has been watched until the end
  • Completely Viewed including Skips - The number of times the video has been watched until the end, including skips (seeks)
  • Number of Users - The number of users who viewed the video
  • Average Viewing Time - The average amount of time that users viewed the listed video at once
  • % Viewed - The average percent of the video length viewed (100% indicates that the video has been watched until the end) during a single session.
  • Video Duration - The length of the video (HH:MM:SS)
  • Load Failures - The number of times the video has failed to load

Inactive Videos

The inactive videos includes the following columns:

  • Video URL - Provides a direct link to the listed video
  • Title - The title of the video
  • Views - The number of times the video has been viewed (0 by default).
  • Load Failures - The number of times the video has failed to load

Video Viewers

This bar chart includes a breakdown of the users who have watched videos. Filter the report by a specific video to see which users have viewed it and how many times it has been watched until the end.

Filters

Portal Tree

Use this filter to navigate through your portal and simply check the box next to any video or page to review information for exclusively that selection. 

Date

Use the date slider to quickly change the start or end date that you would like review information for. If you'd like to choose a specific date, click either the start or end date and manually select it using the calendar popup.

 

Note: The Videos | Usage Overview report requires an additional license and is not included out-of-the-box.
